Complete Lifesaving 123 While Learning From Expert Coaches

Lifesaving 1 Award
- Pre-requisite: Participants must be at least 11 years old and can swim 25 metres comfortably. They must have good physical health and be able to tread water for 2 minutes.
- Focus: Basic water safety and land-based non-contact rescues.
- Skills Developed: Identifying swimmer types, performing reaching rescues, and throwing buoyant aids.
- Course Requirement: Swim 100 metres using any recognised stroke.
Lifesaving 2 Award
- Pre-requisite: Completion of Lifesaving 1
- Focus: Building on preliminary skills with emphasis on resuscitation and emergency rescues.
- Skills Developed: Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, rope rescue, and towing uncooperative casualties.
- Course Requirement: Swim 150 metres comfortably.
Lifesaving 3 Award
- Pre-requisite: Completion of Lifesaving 2
- Focus: Preparing for the Bronze Medallion with advanced water safety, resuscitation, and rescue techniques.
- Skills Developed: Sculling, treading water without arms, resuscitation, underwater recovery, and fully clothed rescue.
- Course Requirement: Swim 200 metres confidently.
