Step 1: Foundational E-Learning (Online, Self-Paced)

Before you even step on the pool deck, you’ll build the intellectual bedrock of your career through our engaging online module. This allows you to master the core principles at your convenience.

• Topics Covered: The Psychology of Young Swimmers (Birth to 5 Years)
• Modern Aquatic Safety & Risk Management Protocols
• The Science of Early-Age Stroke Development
• Professional Ethics & Proactive Parent Communication
• Note: This online module must be successfully completed before attending the in-person workshop.

Step 2: The 2-Day Intensive Workshop (In-Person)

This is where theory comes to life. Over two days, our master instructors will guide you through classroom theory and in-pool practicals to build your confidence and technical skills.

• Day 1: The Instructor’s Mindset & Methodology (Classroom) Duration: ~6 hours
• Focus: Lesson Architecture (how to design a perfect class), Communication Mastery (for both kids and parents), Advanced Risk Assessment, and effective Class Control Strategies for various group sizes.
• Day 2: In-Pool Mastery & Application (Practical) Duration: ~6 hours (Pool-based)
• Focus: Hands-On Infant & Toddler Holds, Building Water Confidence Through Play, Correcting Common Beginner Mistakes, and Live Teaching Drills with direct peer and instructor feedback.

Step 3: Real-World Apprenticeship (18 Mentored Sessions)

This is the most critical phase where theory meets reality. You will be paired with a senior mentor to co-teach live classes, bridging the gap between training and professional practice.

• During Your Apprenticeship, You Will: Co-teach alongside a master instructor in actual baby and toddler classes.
• Progressively lead larger segments of a live lesson.
• Receive personalised, real-time feedback on your technique and communication.
• Develop and refine your own unique, confident teaching style.

Step 4: Final Competency Assessment

This is your final showcase to demonstrate that you have achieved the high standards required of a professional instructor. The assessment is in two parts:

• 1. Knowledge Assessment: A comprehensive online exam covering all theoretical principles of safety, psychology, and teaching methodology.
• 2. Live Teaching Demonstration: You will independently plan and deliver a full lesson to a group of young students. You will be evaluated on Safety Management, Student Engagement, and Instructional Clarity.

Step 5: Professional Certification & Career Launch

Upon successfully passing all phases, you will be awarded the prestigious SSI Swim Teacher designation.

This certification is your official entry into the profession. Leading swim schools across Singapore highly respect it and formally recognise your expertise in teaching children from infancy through their early years.
